Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2026
This website respects your privacy and handles personal data in line with UK data protection law.
Who is responsible for your data
Chef Anwar Miah is the data controller responsible for any personal data processed through this site. For privacy enquiries, contact info@chefanwarmiah.co.uk.
What data is processed
This website does not create user accounts and does not store user data in a database. The following data may be processed:
- Information you choose to send via the contact form — your name, email address, phone number, and message
- Technical data recorded automatically by the server as part of normal operation, including IP address, request time, and requested pages
This website does not use advertising tracking, cross-site tracking, or behavioural profiling of any kind. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Contact forms and email
Messages submitted through the contact form are delivered directly to our inbox via SMTP using PHPMailer. Submissions are not stored in a database on the website — they are sent straight to us by email.
The lawful basis for processing enquiries is legitimate interest: we process the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry. Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry.
Email services are provided by Fasthosts as part of standard hosting operations.
Security and abuse prevention
Basic security measures protect the contact form, including rate limiting based on a hashed IP address to prevent spam. When the form is submitted, a hashed record of your IP address is written to a temporary server file tracking submissions within a 10-minute window. This file is not linked to any personal profile and is removed automatically once no longer needed.
Cookies and sessions
This website sets one strictly necessary cookie: a short-lived session cookie used to validate contact form submissions (CSRF protection). It holds no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
No analytics cookies are set. No advertising cookies are set. No third-party tracking cookies are set. Your visit to this site does not result in any cookie being placed on your device for tracking or profiling purposes.
Analytics
This website does not use any third-party analytics service. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Meta Pixel, and no external tracking or analytics script of any kind — nothing about your visit is sent to a third party.
Visitor numbers are understood only from the standard server access logs described under "Hosting and server logs" below, reviewed in aggregate on the server itself. No cookies are involved and no consent is required under UK PECR or UK GDPR, because no tracking technology is placed on your device.
What this site does not do
- No analytics or tracking cookies, and no persistent identifiers
- No cross-site or cross-device tracking
- No advertising or behavioural profiling
- No data shared with Google, Meta, or any advertising platform
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted on a virtual private server provided by Fasthosts, with data stored in the United Kingdom. Email services are also provided by Fasthosts (United Kingdom). The server automatically records access and error logs for security and maintenance. These are rotated daily and retained for a limited period before automatic deletion. No personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom.
How long data is kept
- Contact form enquiries: retained only as long as needed to respond
- Server logs: retained briefly for security and troubleshooting
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction, or request deletion where applicable. You also have the right to object to processing of your personal data and the right to request restriction of processing in certain circumstances. Because this site processes very little personal data (only what you voluntarily submit via the contact form), most requests will be straightforward.
Requests can be made by emailing info@chefanwarmiah.co.uk.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113 — if you believe your personal data has been mishandled.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if how the website operates changes. The current version will always be available on this page.
